Losing it!
I want to thank my subscribers for allowing me to keep the torch of satire alight in these darkening times.
Here’s this week’s cartoon.
Donald Trump’s declining mental capacity has increasingly become a serious concern. His erratic leadership and compulsive behavior (the reflecting pool!) are readily apparent to most but are being taken in stride by his supporters.
We’ve seen this movie before. During the Biden years, many Democrats chose to bite their lips rather than speak out about his faltering mental capabilities.
Neither of these 80 year-old men should be governing the United States today.

Today we look back at two cartoons printed on June 30th in previous years that still remain relevant.
This cartoon from The Economist in 2023 celebrated the early Russian setbacks in its war with Ukraine. Russia’s struggles in the conflict offer a cautionary tale for China.
Corporate greed will always be a ripe subject for satiric scrutiny. This 2002 cartoon from The Baltimore Sun is one of my favorites on the topic.

Your cartoon this week has so much contrast---a big solid immovable lump on the left and all that movement and variety on the right. Terrific! I looked up "losing one's marbles" to try to find its origins but they appear murky. I like it as a phrase and haven't thought of it in years. There are so many vivid expressions for losing one's mind---most days I feel like I'm losing mine. Your cartoons always help. Thanks!
Nailed it.
