Supreme Mistake
Plus a Kal Art Studio Tour
A big thank you to all my subscribers for supporting political satire in these testy times.
Here’s this week’s cartoon.
It seemed like only minutes after the Supreme Court ruled to gut the 1965 Voting Rights Act that Republicans in Louisiana set out to disenfranchise their state’s black citizens.
33% of Louisiana’s population is African-American. But plans are underfoot to gerrymander the state’s 6 congressional districts so that only one district could likely elect a black representative.
Thanks to this deeply unfortunate Supreme Court ruling, we will soon see other southern states lining up to rob black voters of representation in Washington. Just like the old days.
Come visit my art studio! (Virtually)
This Thursday, May 7 at Noon EST I will be giving a special tour of my art studio for paid subscribers.
I will give a peek into my creative space and share fun stories from my cartooning career. I will also be happy to take your questions.
For those paid subscribers unable to attend, there will be video replay available later in the week. I hope to see you then!

I'm relying on the words of the late Rep. Elijah Cummings, "We're better than that."
Love the cartoon,. but hate the accelerated return to bad old days for all too many citizens of your once great country - and what that bodes for the world.
